About Therapy

There are a number of benefits from participating in psychotherapy.  Sometimes just knowing that there is someone available who understands can be healing.  Therapy can also provide an opportunity for a fresh perspective on a problem, or it can point you in the direction of alternative solutions.  Many people find therapy to be a tremendous tool for managing personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, and the challenges of daily life.  Psychotherapy can help us discover our inner tools and resources, which in turn allows us to grow and to better use life's challenges as means of empowerment.

The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for some new delight
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
Meet them at the door laughing
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
